HDC Fuel Pump Harness Kit (OEM Fuel Hat)

Upgraded fuel hat wiring kit for OEM fuel hats in 99-03 Gen 2 SVT Lightnings, 00-03 Ford F-150 Harley Trucks, & 97-03 10th Gen Ford F-150's (& 04 Heritage). This uses the factory wiring to trigger the harness so it operates like OEM with factory fuel cutoff safeties in place, however uses upgraded wiring to power the fuel pumps for increased pump performance, reduced voltage drop, and increased fuel pressure. This allows pumps to operate at their peak performance and max efficiency. Everything required for install, color directions included. This kit will operate the pumps at full voltage full time, and the factory resistor or relay should be bypassed as the factory circuit will only be providing 12v to the control relay for this kit. 

By reducing the voltage drop in the factory wiring, your fuel pumps will see stronger voltage and operate at peak efficiency. Many aftermarket pumps especially do not like to operate at reduced voltage. Even on stock pumps, upgrading the wiring with this kit has shown a 13 psi increase in fuel pressure solely from reduced voltage drop. This isn't working the pumps harder it's simply allowing them to run at peak efficiency. Depending on your setup, you may need to adjust the tune, adjust your regulator, or have sufficient fuel return capacity to adjust for the improved fuel pressure of an optimized fuel pump circuit. 

***Note*** The Lightning (120" wheelbase) and Harley Truck (139" wheelbase) have a slightly different length of cable run to the fuel tank, so select the corresponding option for your specific truck. The difference in the kits is the main power cable from the fuse box to the PRM is longer for the longer wheelbase option. 

Difference between OEM hat kits and Billet hat kits: The OEM fuel hat has 1 pair of pump wires external to the hat, and the 2nd pair of pump wires is piggy-backed inside the fuel hat. Billet aftermarket hats have 2 pairs of pump wires external to the hat. The HDC OEM Hat kit has 1 pair of pump wires and the second pump in an OEM hat uses the factory piggy-back wiring inside the fuel hat. The HDC Billet hat kit has 2 pairs of pump wires to match up to the billet hats.

Single Pump Use: If you are running a single large pump (sumped tank, or a N/A fuel hat with a single large pump, etc.) you can simply use the HDC OEM hat kit for it. 

Dual Pump Use: If you are running dual pumps where both are primary/constant on, if you have an OEM dual fuel pump hat run the HDC OEM hat kit, and if you have a billet dual fuel pump hat run the HDC Billet hat kit.

Dual Pump Use with 1 pump constant 1 pump triggered: If you want to run a billet hat where 1 pump is primary/constant on (instead of both pumps), and the 2nd pump is triggered by something like a hobbs switch, you can simply use the HDC OEM hat kit for the 1st pump, and the HDC 3rd pump relay kit for the 2nd pump, rather than the HDC Billet hat kit. 

Triple Pump Use with 2 pumps constant 1 pump triggered: If you have a triple hat where 2 pumps are primary/constant on, and the 3rd pump is triggered by something like a hobbs switch, you can simply use the HDC Billet hat kit for the 2 pumps, and the HDC 3rd pump relay kit for the 3rd pump. 

OEM Hat to Billet Hat Upgrades: You have two options if you are on an OEM hat now and plan to upgrade down the road to a Billet hat. Option 1 - buy the HDC Billet hat kit and tape back 1 pair of pump wires that are unused with the OEM hat wiring (since the 2nd pump is piggy backed inside the OEM hat), then when you upgrade you have the 2nd pair of wires available. Option 2 - buy the HDC OEM hat kit now and request the Billet Hat Wiring Upgrade add-on harness later when you upgrade fuel hats. I can provide the extra pair of pump wires that the HDC Billet hat needs that are all sleeved to match your HDC OEM hat harness. Since the only difference between the OEM and Billet hat kits is 1 extra pair of pump wires, it's a simple add-on harness to upgrade that will all match, it just won't be in the single harness sleeving (just zip tie the two together). It's slightly more to do this since it has to be built separately vs. built-in from the start, but it's a little cleaner on the OEM hat not having taped back un-used wires, and if you aren't sure if you'll upgrade down the road, you can rest easy knowing you won't have to buy an entire new kit, you can just add-on the upgrade.
